Speech and Drama at our school

There is a long tradition of Speech and Drama in our school and we include it in regular school day.

The boys put on a tremendous show of Alan in Wonderland to a packed house in the Village Hall over 2 nights in December 2008. It was a fantastic success and they are to be congratulated for their wonderful performances and behaviour during the rehearsals and shows. A lot of hard work went into getting the show on stage and teachers, special needs assistants and Producer Jean McGlynn did a great job. The Parents Council painted the sets for the play and organised the raffle and their input and support is very much appreciated.

We staged a production of Kids at Sea in June 2008 which was run over 2 nights and was met with much critical acclaim! Every student from Junior Infants up to Sixth class was involved in the production which was directed by Jean McGlynn. Huge thanks is due to Jean for all her tremendous work to get us ready to stage such a production. We really enjoyed working with her.

The Parents Council helps to fund the cost of our Speech and Drama lessons and we all benefit greatly from them and really enjoy them.
