Once again we had a fantastic turnout for the school walk in May.  This was all the more encouraging given that it was just beginning to rain as the team of walkers set off from the Heritage Centre at 1pm. 

The rain didn't last and by 2.15 the first and fastest of the walkers began to return to the school for some very welcome refreshments. 

The walkers were also treated to refreshments en route (water and fruit - we are getting v healthy - well, ok, crisps as well!).  Helen McAteer was on hand to pick up those with fading legs and "move " them a little further along the route!   By 4pm the last of the walkers were staggering through the school gates to enthusiastic cheers from all gathered at the school.
